Happy New Year everybody! I hope you had a great holiday season.

Once again we enter year number three for this site, and we go from strength to strength for the site, with the kick off of this year being the great January tradition – The Royal Rumble.

It’s been an interesting month for a WWE Fan. NXT goes from strength to strength, we have seen the return of Daniel Bryan (at long last!) and the WWE Network has finally launched in the UK. In short – everything I said back in November I take back – it’s brilliant, and I’ve been glued to it for the past few weeks. So with Wrestlemania season entering full swing, here’s our predictions for the Royal Rumble 2015.

The Royal Rumble

So the big match is the Royal Rumble, and again you’ve got one or two people who have a chance of winning, rather than thirty men.

The first is Roman Reigns. Since last year he has been built up to be a monster and the guy who must look strong. An illness did mean that he had a few months off, but he came back at TLC to get himself involved with the match with Cena & Rollins. He is a little awkward at the moment, with scripted promos not being his strong point. But nevertheless he appears to be the chosen one.

The second is Daniel Bryan, who was the second man to declare himself in the Royal Rumble. Interestingly, a lot of the build up to this match has focussed on him overcoming the odds to qualify, with The reinstated Authority stacking the deck against him. As such, I’m tempted to go for a Daniel Bryan win, as it feels like more storylines are revolving around him to win it, unless there’s a massive swerve like with Cena winning the rumble Triple H should’ve won in The Garden.

Generally speaking, when it comes to The Royal Rumble, the betting markets generally allow each way betting for the top three. Both Bryan & Reigns should be there are the end, and should be each way bets. Also, I’d be tempted to go with Rusev and Sheamus (seriously, look at his record at being there at the end, it’s great) as the top 4 each way bets.

Finally, in terms of number of eliminations, I’d be tempted to go with Reigns again. He won’t beat his record, but should – in the words of Michael Heyes – look strong.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan Wins

WWE World Heavyweight Title Match

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena vs. Seth Rollins

The title match sees a triple threat match, with Cena (the number 1 contender) ending his programme with Lesnar. But the interesting partner is Seth Rollins – showing how high people are on him – being added to the match. That makes it interesting.

There are rumours that Lesnar will be leaving after Wrestlemania 31, and there are talks to avoid another Wrestlemania 20 with The Beast by having him drop the title before the run up, which suggests either Cena or Rollins could walk away with the title here. I’m not 100% convinced, as I feel that a title drop kind of spoils the storyline. I do think that Lesnar in the main event is what is needed for 31, to finish the story arc, so I feel that he will win here.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar Wins

WWE Tag Team Title Match

The Usos (c) vs The Miz & Damien Mizdow

So interestingly this match was added to the PPV, and I feel this could be another great match, which is a bit of a foregone conclusion. I cannot see The Usos dropping the titles here, no matter how good The Miz & Damien Mizdow are at the moment. I feel this could be the PPV where the Star & his Stunt Double show a bit of dissension, so having them lose the match here, plus a spot in the Rumble, could sow the seeds of their break up.

The Usos on the other hand have other teams they can be feuding with, not least the debut of The Ascension. As such, I can see Jimmy & Jay picking up the win.

Predictions: The Usos Win

20141215_LIGHT_Rumble_Match_NattyPaige_Bellas_HP

The Bellas vs Paige & Natalya

So there isn’t a Divas title match, but instead there’s a tag match featuring four of the top divas. Paige’s latest BFF Natalya, against the Bellas.

Paige appears to have turned face again, so with A.J. being away for a while, she needs re-establishing as a top contender. The belt isn’t on the line, so I’m going for a Paige & Natalya win.

Prediction: Paige & Natalya

20141215_LIGHT_Rumble_Match_HOME_NAO_Ascension

The Ascension vs. The New Age Outlaws

So the Ascension have compared themselves the Legion of Doom and Demolition, and suffered a beat down by a bunch of legend champions. As such, they face The New Age Outlaws in this match at the Pay-Per-View.

So far, The Ascension haven’t looked too hot, squashing jobbers and getting insulted by JBL on commentary. As such, I would like to see The Ascension squash The Outlaws. I’m not too confident on it being a squash, but can see The Ascension win.

Prediction: The Ascension

Pre Show Match

The New Day vs. Adam Rose, Cesaro & Tyson Kidd

The pre show match features The New Day fight against another new threesome – Adam Rose, Cesaro & Tyson Kidd, affectionately known as The Rosebuds. I’m not sure what they are doing with Cesaro, but one thing I can’t see is him winning. I think the Rose/Kidd/Cesaro group will be a short lived one, and The New Day will win this.

Prediction: The New Day

Anyway, these are my predictions, what about yours? Please leave them in the comments!
