WWE TLC 2016 – Predictions

So here we are again…a mere blink since the last PPV and there is yet another one for us to get ready for! This time it’s a Smackdown TLC set up with what looks to actually be quite a promisingly exciting card. Since the brand split the PPVs have struggled a bit – especially as there are so many of them! But I am looking forward to this one. So let’s get on with looking at the card and see what is in store for us this week in our WWE TLC 2016 Predictions.

WWE Championship, Tables Ladders & Chairs Match

AJ Styles (C) vs Dean Ambrose

This match up looks to be possibly the most exciting one of the night for me. And not just because I have grown very fond of “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose of late. Putting Ambrose in a tables ladders and chairs match is almost like putting a duck in water, it is surely giving him an advantage in such a setting? Ambrose and Styles have been at one another leading up to this for ages now, and we have seen Ambrose beat the champion recently to become the number 1 contender. I do want to see Ambrose win this match, I really do. But can I see the WWE taking the title off Styles? I am not so sure there.

Prediction: AJ Styles to win

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship, Tables Match

Becky Lynch (C) vs Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss has been very vocal about wanting her shot at the Women’s title since moving to the main rosta. One can’t help but think maybe she is punching a bit above her weight taking on Becky Lynch so soon? Whilst watching Becky Lynch is always entertaining and she is clearly the women’s champ for a reason, I can’t help but feel somewhat bored of Bliss running her mouth off that she is entitled to the championship. Hopefully this match will see Becky Lynch quickly and effectively put Alexa Bliss back in her place and she will reign herself in a bit. I cannot see Alexa Bliss walking out of here as the new champion at all.

Prediction: Becky Lynch to win

No DQ Match

Nikki Bella vs Carmella

Carmella has seemingly had it in for Nikki Bella since she returned earlier in the year following her neck surgery. This match up has been a long time coming and with a no disqualification stipulation thrown into the mix this looks like it could be a pretty brutal match. Nikki the former Diva’s champion is more than able to take on Carmella – but does she still have what it takes to beat her? I think she does, I just don’t see Carmella being able to go the distance here. Carmella is still relatively new to the main rosta and Nikki Bella is a WWE veteran now so it makes sense to let Nikki have her moment now her career is getting back on track. It will be an interesting match but not the best one on the card for the evening if I am honest.

Prediction: Nikki Bella to win

Intercontinental Championship, Ladder Match

The Miz (c) vs Dolph Ziggler

In this ladder match we see The Miz put his championship on the line against the show off Dolph Ziggler. But how much will Maryse come into the match? It’s getting a bit degrading really for the Miz that he seemingly can’t win without his wife running in with some trick up her sleeve to save the day. So Dolph Ziggler is really going to be up against both of them. It’s a bit of an unfair advantage that in the grand scheme of things can likely cost him the match unless he finds a way to take out Maryse. Both superstars are hungry for this title and it means so much to both of them. If Ziggler wins they will both have held the title 6 times. As much as I dislike Ziggler, I dislike The Miz more. I would love for Ziggler to win and wipe that smug annoying smirk off The Miz’s face, but with Maryse ringside I just don’t see it coming to that.

Prediction: The Miz to win

Chairs Match

Kalisto vs Baron Corbin

So this match up was inevitable after Corbin stormed into the ring and cost Kalisto the Cruiserweight Championship in the last pay per view. Obviously it set the scene for this volatile match up to put an end to this long standing rivalry between the two. Whilst Kalisto is known for his flying moves, he will need to fly pretty high to get out of Corbin’s reach. I think Corbin will have the advantage in this match as he is bigger and just more brutal than I think Kalisto could be. Again I don’t think this match is going to be that exciting to be honest.

Prediction: Baron Corbin to win
