So, TLC 2018 is here. The final PPV of a controversial out of the ring but mostly bland in the ring in the WWE. There have been some bright sparks – such as the rise of Becky Lynch to a big player, but overall it’s been mostly tepid and quiet. Nevertheless – quiet can be good, as betting markets have been quite popular over the past year or so. So, for the final time this year, here’s our WWE TLC 2018 Predictions.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
So the Rollins vs Ambrose feud, that began after Roman Reigns tragically got diagnosed with Leukemia, has been okay, if not exactly blowing boiling. Ambrose hasn’t yet been full dickish heel we know he can be but this should be a good match, as they usually deliver.
It probably will be the main event, shouldn’t be (Becky Lynch will be tough to follow), but I have Ambrose winning here, and then spinning off to another feud for a bit, Rollins as a possible Royal Rumble winner? I wouldn’t be surprised.
Prediction: Dean Ambrose Wins
Tables Ladders & Chairs Match
Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin
Fun fact: Raw recently had the lowest rating ever. It was a terrible episode critically and featured Baron Corbin as a prominent role on the show. Seriously, it’s worth watching just to see how bad it was.
Which leads to this match, Strowman vs. Corbin. If Strowman wins he gets Brock Lesnar at the rumble. Although I think the WWE has cooled on Strowman recently, I feel like Strowman vs Lesnar will be the match at The Royal Rumble. So let’s go with a Strowman win. But this will be an ugly match.
Prediction: Braun Strowman wins
WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nia Jax
So Nia’s officially the least popular person on the Raw roster, after smashing Becky Lynch’s face keeping her out of an anticipated match with Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series. With that said, they seem to push for this match actually taking place at Wrestlemania, which would be brilliant.
I cannot see Rousey losing this here.
Prediction: Ronda Rousey wins
WWE Championship
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles
What a refresh Daniel Bryan has had with his heel turn.
All of a sudden, he seems more focussed, more with it, and a better performer. Putting him as champion has been brilliant and with AJ’s contract issues in the air, him being a champion has been great.
This has every chance of stealing the show, if given time. The show has a lot of matches so I’m not sure they will give it time. If AJ is to leave, I feel this is his last big showcase match. Which would be a shame, as he has been on fire with his WWE run. As for Bryan? Miz at Wrestlemania.
Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins
WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship TLC Match
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair
Charlotte in actual make sense heel turn shocker!
At Survivor Series, Charlotte Flair shocked the world by beating on Ronda Rousey. Becky Lynch, who beforehand turned face because she was being an absolute badass and defending Smackdown’s interests, cemented her face turn by saying Charlotte didn’t deserve another shot. She got one, but it was made a triple threat.
And then you throw in Asuka.
I’m not sure what role she will play. She is either there to be involved in the decision leaving the other two strong, or to escape with the championship. I’m not sure yet. I cannot see Charlotte winning, but maybe Asuka will? Leaving Lynch to go to the Royal Rumble…and win?
Prediction: Asuka Wins
Finn Bálor vs. Drew McIntyre
So, this match could be a bit of a sleeper, as they have a history on the indies. With that said, I’m not really interested but Drew does appear to be The Chosen One (no pun intended) going forward, possibly the person to take the title from Brock Lesnar at some point?
Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins
Elias vs. Bobby Lashley
Again, another match I’ve marginal at best interest in. I’m going to go for Bobby Lashley to win here though.
Prediction: Bobby Lashley wins
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship
The Bar (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Usos
And we have round….6 million of this three way feud? The Bar to retain.
Prediction: The Bar wins
Tables Match
Natalya vs. Ruby Riott
Urgh, this had a horrible build up, with Riott taking the late Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart’s sunglasses and snapping them to get into Natalya’s head. I feel like if it was a straight match or a tables match without the emotional involvement, Riott would win. However with that I feel Natalya is more likely to win.
Prediction: Natalya wins
