Another fortnight, another Pay-Per-View (yes I’m going for Pay Per View) even if that isn’t the case anymore. No Mercy is Smackdown’s second brand split PPV, and it has easily been the better show since the split. No Mercy has an intriguing, if unspectacular card. There are also some interesting stipulations that could make predictions a bit hard. With that said, we’re giving it a go. Here are our No Mercy 2016 Predictions.

WWE World Championship

AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena

So our title match is a triple threat match, built nicely on Talking Smack.

Ambrose has had a bit of a tweener turn after attacking Cena who made his dramatic return to the Smackdown roster. This allowed a little bit of creative freedom, with his Talking Smack promo being the best promo in years. This allowed a retort from Cena that was every bit as good (seriously, Talking Smack is superb). Ambrose also beat Cena and AJ Styles clean in the run up to this match.

I cannot see AJ Styles losing this match. Cena is chasing Ric Flair’s record and I can see that happening at Wrestlemania. I’m going to go for AJ Styles pinning Ambrose clean to retain.

Prediction: AJ Styles Wins

WWE Smackdown’s Womens Championship

Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss

Oooh this could be a bit good.

Alexa Bliss tapped into a fantasy of many of men by donning the Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn getup for the match at Backlash, she has been strong recently, with a nice performance on Talking Smack, and she becomes the number one contender. Even though she attacked Becky Lynch recently, I cannot see her becoming the next Smackdown Women’s Champion. Lynch to retain.

Prediction: Becky Lynch wins.

WWE Intercontinental Championship

The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

If Dolph Ziggler loses, he must retire

So how do you make a boring feud remarkably interesting?

Simple, introduce a stipulation that they appear to be running with.

So The Miz had said that if perennial loser Dolph Ziggler doesn’t win the Intercontinental Championship at No Mercy, he must retire. As The Miz said – “Not come back on Raw. Not return after a month. Retire.”. The fact that they seem to be pushing this stipulation may mean if it comes to fruition, it will happen.

Now, there are rumours going around that Dolph Ziggler’s contract is up after No Mercy, so what better way to get ultimate heat on The Miz than him retire a popular babyface.

Prediction: The Miz Wins

WWE Tag Team Championship

Rhyno & Heath Slater (c) vs. The Usos

How good have The Usos been since turning heel?

Vicious, and violent, with a clearly defined character, since their move to Smackdown Live they have been incredibly watchable with a fun little feud with American Alpha. Both are the cornerstones of the division. Sadly, Rhyno & Heath Slater are not.

The Usos get their rematch. Rhyno & Heath Slater are a lot lower down the priority list. I don’t like hot-shotting titles but switching to The Usos is what’s best for business.

Prediction: The Usos win

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

So they are running with this this month. Last month chalked up as a count-out victory for Wyatt which sucks for our predictions. Nevertheless, the feud continues with Bray at a weaker position again.

This has been awkward build up with Randy Orton playing “Where’s the Bray” through various hallways. I can see Orton being elevated to the main event programme after this feud to feud with Styles, so Orton to win.

Prediction: Randy Orton Wins

Anyway, these are my predictions. What are yours? Feel free to leave them in the comments!
