It’s that time again – the biggest Pay Per View of the year is upon us, this is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill!! – It’s WRESTLEMANIA WEEKEND FOLKS. It feels like it’s only been a few minutes since last year’s events but then so much has happened as well. The whole draft and brand split, Seth Rollins returns from injury and then goes back off with the same injury. Finn Balor goes up to the main roster and then spends the year off with a nasty shoulder injury. Many more have come up from NXT so it leaves you wondering – what is possibly left after such a fantastic run this time last year? Well let’s get to it and look at the card! Here are our Wrestlemania 33 Predictions.

WWE Championship Match

Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Randy Orton

So, this was predicted right back in January when Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble. It was so obvious where that story line was going to go and the WWE didn’t disappoint. This feud has seen the feared Wyatt family ripped apart. These two have been at each other building up to this for weeks. Orton has played a very good game so far and his mind games may just be enough to give him the edge this weekend. Or will Wyatt have something up his sleeve? I think the odds are stacking up that Orton is going to win this match if I am honest, I just don’t see Wyatt coming out on top.

Prediction: Randy Orton

WWE Universal Championship

Goldberg (c) vs Brock Lesnar

This match is a bit like 2 alpha males out in the wild having a show down. Two huge beasts fighting it out to the death. Who will walk away to live another day? We know Goldberg has exactly what it takes after he managed a win over Lesnar in just 1 and a half minutes at Survivor Series and being responsible for eliminating Lesnar from the Royal Rumble. Can he do it again or is it third time lucky for Lesnar? Will Lesnar be ready for the challenge this time? I think all the evidence is shaping up to put Lesnar in the Universal Championship role for a considerable length of time. Once he gets that belt he is not going to let it go easily. I think it would be embarrassing for Lesnar to lose a third time to Goldberg. I think Lesnar is going to take the title this weekend, much as I would rather see the likes of Finn Balor back taking his championship back if it’s got to be one of these I will put my money on Lensar.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar

Undertaker vs Roman Reigns

It wouldn’t be a Wrestlemania without the dead man putting in an appearance. But one can’t help wondering how many more he has? I honestly thought he was done after last year, such a long absence after Mania last year left a lot of fans fearful the deadman was going back into his coffin for the last time. But I don’t think that the WWE would end his career on a loss. I think he will go out on a high really as a mark of respect for the time he has put into WWE. Could this year be the year we see him retire? Will he win against Reigns? Or will Reigns come up with what it takes to put the Undertaker away for good? There is a lot of talk at the moment of predictions of Roman Reigns turning heel following this match, but I don’t think that means he is going to win. Roman Reigns is a power house – but he is not really on the same level as Undertaker.   I love watching Undertaker at work in the ring as much as I detest watching Roman Reigns, but I will look forward to seeing the outcome of this match on the night none the less.

Prediction: The Undertaker

John Cena & Nikki Bella vs The Miz & Maryse

This match seems a bit of a joke match really. To me there is no real contest between the couples. The whole argument between the two couples seems a bit petty and silly… Cena has his faults – like the fact he is often seen talking to his opponent in the ring before a move, but he is still probably the most successful face of the WWE. The Miz has no real way to compete with that – not to mention he is annoying as hell… Along with his wife Maryse. Cena can go out and win a match without Nikki having to come and interfear to help him score a win, can the Miz really say he would be as successful without Maryse causing havoc ringside in a lot of his matches? The Miz claims that Cena and Nikki’s relationship is fake and just for the camera’s and the publicity, yet to watch the two couples surely The Miz and Maryse come across the more fake bigging it up for the cameras. I hope that Nikki and Cena shut these two up for good as I for one am a bit tired of their gimmick now…

Prediction: Nikki Bella & John Cena to win

Seth Rollins vs Triple H

This match is crazy, Rollins surely isn’t 100% yet? Going up against such a brutal opponent on the biggest stage of them all is surely madness? Rollins is angry that Triple H built him up and then dropped him when he first went out on injury with his knee. Favouring Kevin Owens and helping him win the Universal Championship from under Rollins last year. Rollins wants to get back to where he was prior to either of his injuries – but one can’t help wondering if he should actually work himself up instead of throwing himself straight in and risking further injury? He’s even had to sign a waiver that he can’t take legal action if he is injured further by Triple H. One can’t help thinking Triple H has the advantage here as he is not coming off an injury at the moment. I have my fingers crossed for Rollins though as when he is 100% he is phenomenal in the ring. I hope to see him rise again – without going back out on long term injury again!

Prediction: Seth Rollins

Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles

Yet another sob story from another superstar about how hard done to he is with management all being against him. This storyline has been done so many times before, although this time we had the added twist of Styles being fired for his nasty attack on Shane O’Mac. It’s always fun to watch Shane O’Mac and his complete fearlessness throwing himself around in a match. And the way Styles flies around the ring it always a good watch as well. It will be one of the more interesting matches to watch really. Does AJ have what it takes to defeat management and take his place back in the locker room? Or will Shane O’Mac put an end to AJ’s moaning about lack of opportunity? No one really likes to see management come out on top do they? So I am hoping that AJ can pull this one out of the bag.

Prediction: AJ Styles

RAW Women’s Championship

Bayley (c) vs Charlotte Flair vs Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax

A fatal 4-way elimination match with the women’s championship up for grabs. I am actually looking forward to this match. 3 of my all time favourite women’s superstars in the ring against each other again! Women’s wrestling has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years and now I am actually really looking forward to their matches. I think that Sasha, Bayley and Charlotte will work together to get Nia Jax out first and then go at it the three of them against each other. I think we have seen enough of Charlotte dominating the championship so I would route for Sasha or Bayley to win. But let’s be honest – Bayley is the beloved champion for a reason – who is going to want to see her lose? She is just so lovable. Bayley has the drive that it takes and has beaten both Sasha and Charlotte before – can she do it again?

Prediction: Bayley

WWE United States Championship

Chris Jericho (c) vs Kevin Owens

These two were annoying as best friends – they are just as annoying as enemies…. Both of these superstars always seem to be on some sort of grudge settling mission and this is no different. K.O is furious after Jericho cost him the Universal Championship that he had previously helped K.O retain… I think the only way that Kevin Owens is going to save any sort of face here is to beat Chris Jericho and try and take back some respect. He needs to show he still has what it takes to go up against the top end of the locker room and win on his own merit without help. Any other outcome really is going to make him a bit of a laughing stock…

Prediction: Kevin Owens

WWE Intercontinental Championship

Dean Ambrose (c) vs Baron Corbin

Both guys are tough and can be somewhat unpredictable. It’s no secret that Dean Ambrose is one of my favourites in the WWE at the moment. He’s been beaten and provoked by Corbin over the last few weeks and he is ready to fight back. Can he put the Lone Wolf in his place in the pecking order? Or is the Lone Wolf going to take the belt from Ambrose and leave him in the dust? I think that there are plans for Baron Corbin so could this title win be the start of that? Ambrose has been known to take a hell of a beating and still get back up for more so this could be one of the most brutal matches on the card. I am not completely sure which way I think this will go – it’s going to be a close call. I want to say Ambrose will win but I think something is in store for Baron Corbin so I think I am going to go that way much as it pains me to do it!

Prediction: Baron Corbin

RAW Tag Team Championship

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (c) vs Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs Cesaro & Sheamus

This match is a triple threat ladder match between the 3 teams for the tag titles. After a match earlier in the week lead to Sheamus being attacked by Anderson & Gallows resulting in him having 15 stitches across his brow it promises to be a fiery match up! Everyone loves watching Enzo and Big Cass in the ring – they are such an entertaining team even if they aren’t quite on the brutality level of the others. I do think that Enzo and Cass have paid their dues though and deserve this shot at a title run. I don’t think they would hold onto it long if they were to obtain it but I would like to see them at least have a shot. They are the only team out of the three to not have yet held it. I would like to see them win this time – I realise I may be living in a bit of a strange dream world as I don’t see how they are going to fend off Gallows & Anderson but stranger things have happened!

Prediction: Enzo and Cass

2017 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (Kickoff Match)

Well there are quite a few familiar faces already set to enter the ring for this match. Of course in normal WWE style not all of the entrants have been announced currently. But here’s what we have so far at time of writing this! Sami Zayn, Braun Strowman, Goldust, R-Truth, Curtis Axel, Dolph Ziggler, Jimmy & Jay Uso, Chad Gable, Jason Jordan, Primo, Epico, Bo Dallas, Jinder Mahal, Rhyno, Heath Slater, Apollo Crews, Mojo Rawley, Big Show, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Breeze, and Fandango. A match like this is always hard to call a winner because we don’t know who the other entries are and there is usually at least 1 surprise entry. Of the list that are currently announced I could see Braun Strowman winning it – but a match like this really is anyone’s on the night!

Prediction: Braun Strowman

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Mickie James vs. Carmella (with James Ellsworth) vs. Naomi

I am not really sure this should be relegated to a kickoff match with RAW Women’s championship going on the main card. Both Women’s Championships should be held in equal respect. That said, this match could get a bit chaotic as there are 6 women competing. Alexa Bliss has to defend her title against almost all of the women’s locker room in one go! Does she have it in her? She is going up against Becky Lynch, Natalya, Mickie James, Carmella, and just announced Naomi back from injury to go back after the title she had to forfeit it. I think the main contenders in this match really are Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch and Naomi. I just don’t see the others taking the championship. Considering that Naomi is in front of a home crowd in Orlando I think it would be great for her to win it back off Alexa Bliss and put an end to the wicked witch once and for all. I want to see Naomi back where she should be, she never lost the title officially so I want to see her back with it and I bet the crowd will be behind me here as well!

Prediction: Naomi

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Neville (c) vs Austin Aries

Neville has been dominating the Crusierweights since he reappeared on the scene. He thinks no one has what it takes to remove him from his current throne. Austin Aries has had a good run to get to the number 1 contender spot including a fatal 5 way match to secure his title shot. Wrestlemania is a time for titles to change hands in front of the biggest crowd of them all. So will we see Aries put an end to Neville running rampaging through the division? Or will Neville just chalk another one up on his scoreboard at the end of the night? I actually think Aries will be a good competition for Neville and I think he will have the edge it takes. I would like to see Aries walk away from this victorious – I am not a Neville fan if I am honest and I think it is time for a change on his throne!

Prediction: Austin Aries
