Well it feels like it has been a while since the last PPV, but maybe that’s the run up to Christmas madness? Who knows. Anyway this weekend sees another WWE PPV in the form of Clash of Champions. Where scores are settled and titles are on the line… so pretty much the same as most other PPV’s then? Aye, well, let’s crack on! Here are our WWE Clash of Champions 2017 Predictions.

WWE Championship

AJ Styles (c) vs Jinder Mahal

This weekend sees Jinder Mahal go after the Phenomenal One in a bid to win back his championship. When looking at this match we need to look at predictions for both the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania as that is where the WWE is gearing up for now. The road to Wrestlemania has begun and now we have to wonder who will hold the WWE Championship? Personally I think it should be AJ Styles. The endless options for him would make for far more exciting matches for me than Mahal. But Mahal could walk away the victor this weekend. He made a mistake in allowing Styles time to recoup after Styles faced Lesnar, he should have invoked his rematch sooner to try and secure a win. What was he thinking? Only time will tell on this one. I am going to put my money on AJ Styles to retain the Championship though at this point.

Prediction: AJ Styles to win

WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Charlotte Flair (c) vs Natalya

Charlotte and Natalya go head to head this weekend in a lumberjack match to determined the winner of the Women’s Championship. Charlotte has been seen going from strength to strength again recently and is comfortable at the top of the pack, even showing she was superior over both brands when she recently took out Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series. Can Charlotte reign supreme? Or can Natalya step in and throw Charlotte off the top once and for all? Honestly I just don’t see Natalya beating Charlotte. I am sure it will be a good match but let’s be honest, Natalya hardly gets used to the best that she could have been in her career within the WWE… I doubt they will have her over Charlotte Flair as the Champion…

Prediction: Charlotte Flair to win

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The Usos (c) vs The New Day vs Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable vs Rusev & Aiden English

The Tag Team Championship is up for grabs in what can only be predicted as a brutal fatal 4 way match. With 4 wrestlers in the ring at any one time until one of them is out, this could get exciting quite quickly. It’s hard to know who to root for here. I mean I love The New Day and think they are brilliant champions as they embody the image of WWE to a T (See what I did there??) but… with so many other superstars involved in the match with them it will be a hard call as to who is going to come out victorious in the end. The opinions here are a bit divided at Wrestling Betting headquarters, between The New Day and Rusev & Aiden English. I think The Usos will put up one heck of a fight to try and retain their titles but I don’t see that being an outcome really. Same with Benjamin and Gable, I don’t see them walking away title holders. Maybe they are there to bulk up the numbers? So yes anyway, we think there are only 2 real competitors in this match. And upon flipping a coin we are going with Rusev & Aiden English to win.

Rusev & Aiden English to win

Randy Orton & Shinsuke Nakamura vs Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

What a whirlwind Owens and Sami Zayn have had in their on again off again friendship. Can they keep it together long enough to fight for the right to remain in the WWE? Their careers are on the line in this match as Shane O’Mac – who will guest star as a referee alongside Daniel Bryan, made it very clear that if these two lose the match then they also lose their careers. Randy Orton got to choose his partner for this match up and he picked wisely in Shinsuke Nakamura, what a partner! These two will well and truly give Owens and Zayn a run for their money. I am torn with this match up because I honestly can’t see the WWE releasing Owens and Zayn. They are too good to be cut loose. But realistically do they have what it takes to take on Orton and Nakamura? I think so, but how? So what is going to happen? It will be worth watching just to find out what will happen if these two do lose, but I feel they will win.

Owens & Zayn to win

United States Championship

Baron Corbin (c) vs Bobby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler

Well I think again like several of the other matches this weekend, it will come down to only two. Corbin and Bobby Roode. I don’t think Ziggler poses any real threat – and we all know I am not fond of the over greasy showoff. So let’s leave him in his corner to play with his toys. I think this will come down to an epic showdown between Corbin and Roode for the title. I think that whilst Corbin is a very deserving champion – and has my favour in the fact The Miz isn’t the champ anymore, I do think maybe, just maybe, Roode deserves a chance at holding the title. These two will thrash it out to the death – with a bit of interference from Ziggler this weekend and I can’t wait to see who walks away with the title belt. My money is on The Glorious One – just so we can hear his music again…

Prediction: Bobby Roode to win

Anyway, they are our predictions, what are yours? Feel free to leave them in the comments below!
