Zzzzzzzzz….. That has been the general consensus of how the past month has been received, with some terrible RAW’s loaded with mistakes, poor storylines and patriotism (a great way to promote when they are launching the WWE Network worldwide), has meant I’ve struggled through the 12 hours of WWE Raw in the past month. However, struggled I shall as generally speaking a poor product means it’s easy to bet too!

So, rather uninspired, here are my predictions for Night of Champions.

20140819_LIGHT_NOC_Match_BrockCena_HOMEPAGE

WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Brock Lesnar (c) vs John Cena

So, face John Cena has threatened to sue, fight dirty, and be a bully in the past month to get his rematch with Brock Lesnar. Well done.

It’s a shame, really as I was a massive fan of Brock when he became champion. Cena was made to look unbelievably weak, and it was a “lets see what happens” after Summerslam. Well in truth, nothing did. It was poor. There have been rumblings of Cena being hot-shotted back to the title, but I cannot see that happening. Cena has been injured and working hurt recently, so I could see him take a month or two off whilst it’s quiet to refresh himself. So more of the same really, Brock to win, probably with a bunch more German Suplexes. That should eb the right decision.

Prediction: Brock Lesnar Wins

20140825_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_sheamus-cesaro_logo b

WWE United States Championship

Sheamus (c) vs. Cesaro

Another feud that has been thrown together a bit, with 2 people who have not exactly set the world alight. Seriously the US Title is a millstone, and needs defending or dropping.

Sheamus though is in a quite good position in that – if Cena was to take time off – I can see him entertaining Brock for a little while with a headline programme. You would need to build him up for a month or two, but could provide some fresh matches – more so than the threatened Big Show programme for Brock again. As such, I could see him either dropping the title here, or winning and them merging the two belts.

I think the former. Cesaro could do with building up again, and a belt (albeit the millstone belt), could do it. Plus Sheamus had the win before on Raw, so with WWE’s great 50/50 booking, Cesaro seems like the more likely.

Prediction: Cesaro Wins

20140825_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_DolphMiz_sponsor b

WWE Intercontinental Championship

Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. The Miz

So the belt was hot-shotted onto Ziggler, and in the past month this has been one of the better feuds, with two solid workers, working to their strengths, and a great support with Damien Mizdow and R-Ziggler (seriously, watch the Smackdown tag team match, it’s superb), this has been a bright light since Ambrose has left.

Two things I can see happening. The dull thing (which I think will happen) will be Ziggler retaining. Alternatively (and one I think could be great) would be Miz’s stunt double Damien Mizdow replacing The Miz, and actually winning the title. Could bring a fresh feud, and be interesting.

Nevertheless, I’m going for a Ziggler win.

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler Wins

20140825_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_Divas

WWE Divas Championship

Paige (c) vs AJ Lee vs Nikki Bella

So the best Diva’s feud in years has been mixed with the worst.

At Summerslam, Nikki turned heel on Brie. This is Nikki who is obviously dating John Cena and everybody knows that they all get along. Nikki joined The Authority and is shoehorned into this feud with Paige & AJ Lee.

Unfortunately, I can see Nikki taking the win here. It seems to be Paige & AJ have run it’s course, and Nikki & Brie actually looks like continuing. So – unfortunately – I can see a Nikki Bella win.

Prediction: Nikki Bella Wins

20140825_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_HenryRusev

Mark Henry vs Rusev

So the Jack Swagger face experiment petered out (although in doing so they’ve killed Bo Dallas’ momentum), and the latest American Hero to take on Rusev is Mark Henry.

To be honest I’m not too bothered about it – Henry is pretty watchable and I feel that in this stage of his career he’s perfect to be putting over Rusev in what could be a fascinating match. Rusev should lose and lose soon, although not to Mark Henry. Not yet.

Prediction: Rusev Wins

20140825_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_TagMatch_Sponsor

WWE Tag Team Championship

The Usos (c) vs Goldust & Stardust

So, the age old question for nearly a year in “who is turning heel between Goldust & Stardust” has been answered – both of them.

Again, this could possibly see a title change. Usos have been stale and Goldust & Stardust have been at the very least different, so I’m going to go with a provisional title change here. Not hugely confident, but we’ll see.

Prediction: Goldust & Stardust Wins

20140825_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_JerichoOrton_Sponsor

Chris Jericho vs Randy Orton

So Bray Wyatt (who won the feud with Jericho) is off the PPV and Jericho is instead in a high profile match with Orton.

In all honesty I can kind of understand it. There are rumours this is Jericho’s last match before he goes off gallivanting with Fozzy. As such, I can see him losing this, with Orton getting a win to help push him back up the card. Jericho doesn’t need a win at the moment, and if he never wins a match again he’s a superstar still.

Prediction: Randy Orton Wins

20140910_LIGHT_NOC_Match_HOMEPAGE_RomanRollins_Sponsor

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins

This is another interesting one, as they gave this match away on Monday night.

Genuinely didn’t understand that one, particularly as if you watch any of the WWE Network stuff ($9.99/month) they slate WCW for giving away PPV matches for free.

The interesting thing though about this is the mention of Dean Ambrose, which suggests some involvement of the third Shield member. However, I cannot work out how this match will go. With Reigns winning the first one, I’m tempted to say Seth Rollins will win this one.

Prediction: Seth Rollins Wins

Anyway, they are my predictions. How about yours? Please let me know in the comments.
