So. We’re under 2 sleeps away from the Royal Rumble, and betting markets have delivered. We welcome a couple of new bookmakers to the Wrestling Betting fold: Boylesports rather pathetically only has betting on the actual Royal Rumble match, but Sportingbet has betting on the entire card. Check them out, as they have some pretty decent prices. Sportingbet in particular has pretty good prices on the actual Rumble match.

Rather frustratingly, this year they are not offering each way bets. Each way (for those who aren’t seasoned gamblers) is a method of betting where you bet and you hope that the bet comes in the top 3 or 4 places, but also if they win they get more. It’s a way to kind of protect your losses, particularly when you have a large field. It was a pretty good shout particularly with people who had no chance of winning, but could be in the final four. Last year, Dolph Ziggler won a lot of people a lot of money by finishing fourth in the match. This year there were some good each way shouts (Sheamus for example), but it isn’t to be.

Though, Paddy Power are running a “most eliminations” pool, which could be fascinating. As such, I’ve suggested a cheeky punt on that bet. Also, Paddy Power are the only bookmakers taking accumulators. You can make other bets at other bookmakers, but not accumulators at the time of writing. I’ll place the other places you can get better odds below.

Onto the bets themselves!

Royal Rumble Matches – Double

This looks like a fairly safe bet, so this is hopefully going to be the banker going into the Rumble.

  • Brock Lesnar to beat The Big Show
  • Randy Orton to beat John Cena

I have put 5 points on the above bet. Read about the points system here.

If 1 point is £1, then you can win £5.35 at Paddy Power.

(If you can place accumulators, then you can win £6.42 at Skybet, £6 at Sportingbet, £5.58 at William Hill and £5.47 at BetFred)

Royal Rumble Matches – 4 Fold

Interestingly, there’s been a massive swing in betting in the past few days regarding the tag team match. As such, I’m not quite as confident as I am on it. So here’s my non-rumble 4-fold.

  • Brock Lesnar to beat The Big Show
  • Randy Orton to beat John Cena
  • The Rhodes Brothers to beat The New Age Outlaws
  • Daniel Bryan to beat Bray Wyatt.

For this bet, I have put 2 points on the above bet. Read about the points system here.

If 1 point is £1, then you can win £20.45 at Paddy Power.

(If you can place accumulators, £35.20 at Sportingbet, £32.81 at William Hill and £26.85 at BetFred)

Royal Rumble Match Betting Tips

Unfortunately, from what we’ve seen you can only put on singles, rather than an acculumulator involving the Royal Rumble, so I’ve put on the following 3 singles.

For these bets, they are all one point, so assumed 1 point is £1 for each of these.

Basically, if two come off (or Daniel Bryan wins the Rumble) then you’re in profit for the Rumble match, then you only really need one of the accumulators to come off to be in profit. It’s not a massive betting market this Pay Per View, but should start the year up.
