Happy Royal Rumble weekend! Yes my favourite Pay Per View of the year is finally here. I bloody love the Royal Rumble, and this year, incredibly, it has seen a lot more hype due to the fact it’s unpredictable. Yeah admittedly it’s great for WWE fans, but for those trying to predict matches it’s hard. Nevertheless, there is some great value to be had out there with a number of bookmakers, so without further ado, here are our WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Betting Tips.

WWE Royal Rumble 2017 – Double

A fairly safe double to begin with, Charlotte is odds on favourite to retain the title against Bayley, and Neville is odds on favourite to gain the Cruiserweight Championship against Rich Swann. Both are quite long odds, so I’ve gone for both to win.

  • Charlotte Flair beats Bayley
  • Neville beats Rich Swann

I have put 2 points on the above bet (you can read about the points system here).

If 1 point is £1, you can win £2.23 off a 1 bet with Ladbrokes or £2.23 off a £2 bet with William Hill.

WWE Royal Rumble 2017 – Four Fold

This, non Royal Rumble entire-card accumulator includes the two title matches. With a no-DQ stipulation added to the Raw title match, I feel that Kevin Owens could win the match. I also think that John Cena will win his record-equalling championship at the Royal Rumble.

  • John Cena beats AJ Styles
  • Kevin Owens beats Roman Reigns
  • Charlotte Flair beats Bayley
  • Neville beats Rich Swann

I have put 1 points on the above bet (you can read about the points system here).

If 1 point is £1, you can win £2.21 off a £2 bet with William Hill.

WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Betting Tips

And now, onto the big one! These are individual bets and there are quite a few of them. I’m going to try and explain the logic behind each bet.

WWE Royal Rumble Winner Bets

With Kevin Owens retaining, I feel the most logical winner of the Royal Rumble is probably now Chris Jericho. Having him win the Rumble and go up against his best friend makes an intriguing storyline. As such, I’m going to suggest that Chris Jericho will win the 2017 Royal Rumble.

The best odds you can get for Chris Jericho winning The Royal Rumble is 11/1 at Coral.

WWE Royal Rumble Most Eliminations

Another popular bet is the most eliminations in the Royal Rumble. This year it seems fairly obvious. Braun Strowman has been booked incredibly strong recently, and the most eliminations, including some big names, could really cement Strowman as a contender.

The best odds you can get for Brawn Strowman getting the most eliminations is 1/2 with Betfair.

WWE Royal Rumble – Sami Zayn

I think Sami Zayn could have a big year in this year’s Royal Rumble, and think he could be the iron man of this year’s rumble. He’s had a bit of focus and I can see him having a big year. So for Sami Zayn to be in the Final Four of the Royal Rumble is 3/1 with Betfair and 3/1 with Coral.

Furthermore, for Sami Zayn to Last the Longest is 5/6 with Sky Bet and 5/6 with Paddy Power.

WWE Royal Rumble – Appearances

Finally, with 30 participants, you can have many appearances at the Rumble, and it is fun to predict who will be a surprise appearance.

The most obvious one appears to be Tye Dillinger. “The Perfect 10” is one of those gimmicks that has caught on this year in NXT, and with his commitments in developmental wrapping up, him entering the Royal Rumble at number 10 seems like such a nice moment. So for Tye DIllinger to enter #10 at the Royal Rumble is 1/3 at Coral.

Next up is Tyler Bate. He is not appearing at PROGRESS’ shows this weekend, so I wouldn’t be surprise if he gets a nice spot at the Royal Rumble, a good 20 minute run with maybe an elimination (similar to Bo Dallas in NXT a few years back eliminating Wade Barrett) could be a great showing for the 19 year old. So for the first ever UK Champion Tyler Bate to enter the Royal Rumble is 5/6 at Sky Bet.

Next up, on WWE Smackdown there has been a bit of feud starting between Dolph Ziggler and Jerry Lawler. Although I cannot see WWE clearing Lawler, it was telling that JBL came to Lawler’s aid. As such, I can see JBL entering the Royal Rumble. For JBL to enter the Royal Rumble you can get 6/4 at Sky Bet.

Finally, and this is a bit of a punt. I cannot see a woman participating in a match, but what I can  see happening is Eva Marie entering the Royal Rumble with her elaborate entrance, only to back out at the end. Do it when a face (like Sami Zayn) is alone in the ring. It’s brilliant, it probably won’t happen, but for a woman to enter the Royal Rumble you can get 5/1 at 888 Sport.
