A huge curve ball took place at Wrestlemania. Well, about 4 or 5 of them, but one of the hugest was the positioning of WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble. It was originally announced as a house show, but now WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble is now a fully fledged big show. The show is broadcasted live on the network, which offers some fans to re-evaluate their moral compass. Nevertheless, we’re a betting site, we don’t have a moral compass! Here are our WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble Predictions.

50-Man Greatest Royal Rumble Match

I cannot predict which match would go on last in the Greatest Royal Rumble, but I guess the titular match will be one of the main events. It’s already a loaded match, with Daniel Bryan, Kurt Angle and even Chris Jericho already being announced for the event. There could be surprises, there will be suprises, but as to the winner – I’m not sure. I guess Braun Strowman for my prediction.

Prediction: Braun Strowman Wins

WWE Universal Championship

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns

So, the biggest shock to come out of Wrestlemania was that Roman Reigns lost. Again.

My feeling is that whilst it was a shock, and the match was a fairly good match (though nowhere near main event level), I feel that Brock Lesnar won so they would crown Roman Reigns in Saudi fricking Arabia where they have a more receptive crowd.

I hate it, but Roman Reigns to win.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

WWE World Championship

AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

So another surprising result was AJ Styles retained the World Championship. Even more surprising, and borderline shocking, Shinsuke Nakamura turned heel after the match.

I love Heel Nakamura, he’s really good fun, his “Me No Speak English” after answering a question where he quite clearly is fluent (a tactic I did in India when I was being hassled by some scammers) was wonderfully well done. He has swag, he has a cockiness to him, he has a weird fascination for AJ Styles’ balls. Will he have AJ’s world championship? I say….yes!

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura

Casket Match

The Undertaker vs. Rusev

So, at Wrestlemania The Undertaker made his return to the WWE in a short squash match against John Cena. Although the Undertaker from half a decade ago is largely done, he can still do a short programme with an experienced opponent. This experienced opponent is jobber to the stars Rusev.

Rusev is quite clearly popular and will be successful going forward, but why they don’t turn him babyface is beyond me. Nevertheless this match does go ahead and The Undertaker will win quite quickly.

Prediction: The Undertaker

John Cena vs. Triple H

Again, another of the “dream matches” out there is Cena vs Triple H. Triple H was part of – dare I say – the match of the night at Wrestlemania and Cena was squashed in under 5 minutes by the Undertaker. Both these guys are in positions that they can afford to lose as they are more attractions now. So, as a result, go for a happy result with Cena winning.

Prediction: John Cena

WWE US Championship

Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal was champion for about a week as US Champion in another Wrestlemania shock, when they did the title switch to Jeff Hardy on Raw to send the belt back to Smackdown, keeping the IC Title on Raw. This match is a bit of a foregone conclusion as only Samoa Joe is a Smackdown superstar in the other secondary title match, and he is feuding with Roman Reigns, so I cannot see him getting the belt before his Universal Championship match. Hardy to retain.

Prediction: Jeff Hardy

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

Bray Wyatt & “Woken” Matt Hardy vs. The Bar

Again, another foregone conclusion match. The Bar lost to Braun Strowman and Nicholas (who was a fan in the crowd who Strowman picked out, completely missing Kazuchika Okada and half the NXT roster) but Strowman vacated the belts due to Nicholas – who was a 9 year old kid – vacating the championship. This is the final of a small tournament. Wyatt & Hardy have combined forces now as a tag team, which gives Wyatt’s character a new lease on life. Again, another foregone conclusion as The Bar are off to Smackdown, Wyatt & Hardy to win.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt & “Woken” Matt Hardy

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The Usos

In only the second squash match of the evening at Wrestlemania The Bludgeon Brothers beat The Usos and The New Day quite comfortably to win the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. In their first title defense they defend against The Usos. The Bludgeon Brothers are in a unique position whereby they are being portrayed as monsters, so whoever brings them down needs to be a built up new tag team. That team is not The Usos.

Prediction: The Bludgeon Brothers

Intercontinental Ladder Match

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz vs. Samoa Joe

And finally, in one of the sleeper hits of Wrestlemania, The Intercontinental Championship match is redone, but this time as a ladder match, with the addition of Samoa Joe. This could be the match of the night in this rather weird house show but with Jeff Hardy winning, the title will stay on raw. So more than likely Seth Rollins will retain.

Prediction: Seth Rollins
